Scotland’s Heritage and Culture attracts thousands of tourists each year, but many people within hundreds of villages, towns and cities across the country are not afforded an opportunity to actively engage with their local history and beyond. These barriers to engagement, for example, can comprise economic (cost of travel) to perceived barriers (“it’s not for me”).
We, at Archaeology Scotland, are trying to break down those barriers with our ‘Mobile Museum’, an upcycled shipping container with fun activities. We brink history and archaeology to you. Here are some of the photos from our first trial of the Mobile Museum at Greenock (click to enlarge):
