Haiku Poetry

Rather than write a weekly blog, we decided to instead to write poetry verse which reflected our feelings about the project. We chose to write in Haiku verse, which one of our Women at War members had learnt in another workshop.

World War Two remains
Hint at changing worlds
A trace of what was.

Car sick every time
Quick, pass the sick bag
Tracy in the car again

Women at War
Leaves no stone unturned
And no biscuit uneaten.

I can’t stop looking at these bricks an stones
Turning ground and finding bones.

The beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Red brick and concrete.

The grey concrete remains
A trace of what was
Brought alive by a fireside Wren.
